We have seen more networks than we care to admit, and have seen devices that do weird things, but randomizing a MAC address on a simple network-enabled clock is just. I'm a tech guy in a network intelligence company called Netify. ![]() Randomizing a MAC address on the same local network is just. my mobile phone MAC at Starbucks location #1 will be different than the one presented at Starbucks location #2). For privacy reasons, randomizing MAC addresses across different networks is understandable (e.g. Sorry, but that's just poor behavior for a network device - business or home. Those are software engineer code words for "bug" (source: am software engineer). ![]() ![]() This behaviour of the device is by designĬlassic.
